Here are the steps (within the Putty Configuration window) to change the Putty title permenantly for a particular session:

1. In the "Session" category, click a saved session and then click "Load" button

2. In the "Features" sub-category of the "Terminal" category, check the option of "Disable remote-controlled window title changing"

3. In the "Appearance" sub-category of the "Window" category, type any text you want below the Windows Title.

4. Go to the "Session" category and click "Save" button to allow the session attributes to be saved.
